Teak From Ecuador.

Teak (Tectona Grandis) is a tropical hardwood native to India, Indonesia, Myanmar, part of Thailand and Laos. Teak wood arrived to Ecuador in 1950 to try its performance on Ecuadorian territory which is recognized to be a country with farming advantages because of the country's conditions on weather and type of soil.

What makes this wood different from other types of wood is its natural resistance to exogenous factors such as weather, moisture, pests, termite and others. Therefore one of the main uses for this type of wood is the construction of boat desks, and outdoor furniture. However teak is also widely used on the construction of expensive indoor furniture, floors and other products.

Ecuador is one of the main exporters of Teak in South America and Ecuadorian Teak is recognized by its quality.
